For Cheffont, his creativity is based on his intellectual interest, cultural experiences, current affairs, and historical moments. He enjoys capturing a favorable moment with in history and transferring it to his canvas. Through his work, he can hold onto that special moment for the rest of time. He dedicates his installations to subjects which have empowered his life. Cheffont enjoys creating clues to a deeper meaning in his installations, and letting the audience solve the puzzle. Cheffont enjoys trying different techniques, and he believes each technique create its own world and unique outcome. For example, when he uses a palette to apply thick oil paint throughout a canvas it creates a different experience then when he uses thick acrylic paint and applies it with different brushes on a canvas. These different techniques also produce a different learning experience. Cheffont understands how important it is to record historical moments in our lives, and how we can preserve it through art for eternity. His mission is to continue creating artwork that will keep his audience thinking.
